Disney Day #2 – EPCOT

So, where did we stay? Disney’s Yacht Club resort.  We’ve never stayed at a high end resort, and boy after this, we won’t ever go back.  The pool was amazing and the kids enjoyed every minute of most afternoons/evenings poolside.  It was like being at the beach!  This picture I took while walking back from Epcot.  The path to Epcot is a quick 5 minute walk to the entrance by United Kingdom.  It was great to be so close! On the first morning we went to the lounge and ate breakfast. The kids loved having tables that fit them, and Scott and I loved having unlimited drinks and coffee.  We would have breakfast in the am/snacks in pm/and desserts in the night.  It was wonderful!  

After breakfast we had some surprises waiting in the room for the kids.  Max got a Star Wars bobble head with a ton of snacks, Megan a Nemo Beach bucket with stuffed animals and pool toys, and Mia a Princess basket filled with suckers, a crown, Minnie Mouse and a new autograph book!  She was thrilled!

We headed over to Epcot mid-morning and met our first characters Chip and Dale, and Donald Duck.  Mia went right up and hugged them – a far cry from our previous trip in 2007.  We were able to hook up with the Connelly family and ate lunch with them too.  Their kids are similar ages to ours – so they were all fast friends!  The heat is horrible in July, and we were so tired from the trip the night before that all of us took a nap in the afternoon! In the evening, we headed back over to Epcot to Japan for dinner at Teppan Edo.  It was amazing food.  We were so glad to see everyone at that point! Below are a few pictures – We sat with the Devlin family, and Connelly’s / Campbells ate together.  Mia and Olivia were back together again – we’ve seen them several times before when visiting Florida, but it seems like now they actually remember each other. 

After dinner we all “traveled” to “China” and had some family/group pictures done.  It was a lot of fun. Then the fireworks started and the kids ran to Soarin’ for a ride.  It was a great first day!  One thing I failed to mention was the other cuties – Aslan (pictured with Mia below) and Ella (in her mom Laurie’s arms below) were also there the 1st night.  I also failed to mention how everyone is much taller than Mia! Guess we have a shorty on our hands!
