We went up to the lake for 4th of July weekend. We were glad just to get away and relax for a change with nothing to do but swim, eat, watch fireworks, and visit. My brother and his family came Friday night on their way back to Chicago to visit friends. The kids are always happy to see each other. Even though there is a big age range from 14-4, they all get along perfectly.
“SNORES”
Friday night we made “SNORES” –as Mia calls them. Of course they are yummy and sticky but great fun!
The “Annual” Photo
For about 4 or 5 years now, my parents have taken their picture with the grandkids for their Christmas card. This year, she planned ahead for color coordination, and even the grown ups got in too. Here’s some snapshots from the very informal photo shoot :)
Swimming
The weekend wouldn’t be complete without many trips down to the pool. The kids just love to swim, and when you are looking over Lake Erie what is not to love? The funniest was when Max and Megan tried to put each other on their shoulders…
And what would be a trip to Northwest Ohio without Netty’s? They have great hot dogs and root beer floats. We go almost every time we are there. (And as you can see Max can’t get enough!)
REST
And finally we did a lot of this…napping almost everyday for all of us, and just relaxing. Thanks Mom and Dad for a great weekend…we will be back!

That sounds like a perfect, relaxing weekend!
Looks like a great weekend!
Oh, and Aslan calls them "smarshsmellow snores," which I genuinely hate to correct her on. Its way too cute.
Caryn
