On the 6th Day of Christmas...

My true love gave to me:

6 New ornaments,

5 hanging stockings,

4 sides to a gingerbread house,

3 smiling faces,

2 singing angels,

and an elf named Hermie.

Each year we order ornaments from Bronner's Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, Michigan. Scott and I used to make an annual event to visit there when we lived in Michigan, but then we moved around. So, every year we just order and have shipped the most beautiful glass ornaments. Most are handmade (and some made in China) but our whole tree is made of these ornaments.


Every year, we try to pick an ornament for each of us that signifies something special that happened, or that they did that year. Here's our ornaments for 2009.


Scott - A Tent - we purchased a family tent earlier this year - this one is much cuter with the Hathaway family written on the side ;)


Stacy - a dolphin - in honor of us visiting Sunny at Marineland this year. I have always wanted to pet a dolphin, so this seemed fitting.


Max - what else - a basketball and hooop. He already has a basketball from a few years ago, but this year, his big thing was making the travel team. So we added this one in honor of his hard work!


Megan - a piano - her personalized piano looks so pretty on the tree. She started piano lessons in January this year, and so we thought this was great for her!


Mia - a panda bear. Since Mia started Chinese language and dance, we thought that would be a perfect tie into her heritage. (we also have a China flag, Great Wall, etc. from the year we adopted her)


And finally we added an ornament to remember Grandpa John this year. He gets to spend Christmas with Jesus this year.
